Family-owned Business.Trusted For Years.
You deal with the owner, not a salesperson. Frank walks every property himself and hands you a written price before work begins — the number you get is the number you pay.
From tree removal to the finishing touches, Trailblazer Turf & Timber’s experienced crew handles it all — no coordinating multiple contractors. Family-owned in Bedford Hills and led by Frank Jaros, we bring 20+ years of experience, formerly as Evarts Tree Service. One crew. One call. Free, straightforward estimates.

We have been providing expert arboricultural advice for more than 20 years. We can help you keep your trees safe and healthy.

Safety, safety, safety! This is the key when removing any dead or compromised trees from your property. Our takedown techniques are second to none — the highest quality and safety on every job, relieving you of any worry or stress.

We professionally trim or prune all dead or compromised limbs to protect your tree and keep it healthy.

After safely taking down your trees, we haul everything away and leave your property clean, tidy and fully restored.

We pair top-of-the-line equipment with highly trained tree specialists to grind your stumps safely and completely.

Our highly trained arborists use mulching as one of the most effective treatments for protecting the health of your garden — and it gives planting beds a clean, finished look.

Frank Jaros and his expert team are here for your hardscaping projects — pathways, retaining walls, patios, and everything in between.

Your landscape design should be functional and represent your requirements, likes, and interests, much like a floor plan for an outside space. We make sure that your grounds always make a great first impression.

We supply our customers with the highest quality firewood, which is best for burning and keeps your winters warm.
For two decades this company was Evarts Tree Service. Same family, same crew, same trucks in the same driveways — we changed the name to Trailblazer Turf & Timber because the work grew past trees. Turf and timber is what we do now: the removal and the restoration.
We’ve built our reputation on faith, hard work, and honest pricing — and we’re carrying every bit of that into this new chapter, in the same driveways and for many of the same families who knew us under the old name.
If you hired Evarts before, you are hiring the same people. We don’t just clear the path. We set the standard.
Why Choose
You deal with the owner, not a salesperson. Frank walks every property himself and hands you a written price before work begins — the number you get is the number you pay.
The same tight-knit crew shows up on every job — specialists who take down hazardous trees safely and rake the yard down before they leave. Chips, limbs and logs leave with us.
The tree coming down is only half the job. We grind the stump, regrade the ground and rebuild the space with lawn, beds or a patio — no second contractor, no second schedule.
We show you exactly what drives the cost — size, equipment access, proximity to structures, disposal — line by line, before you agree to anything. No surprises on the invoice.
Mission
Our mission is to care for God’s great outdoors by helping homeowners make the most of their own backyards. Whatever work we take on, our goal is to get it right; therefore, we plan every job with safety and care. We’ll go out on a limb for you (often literally) to prune, cut and cultivate beauty and safety on your property.
Whether it’s landscaping or tree work, we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standard, so you can trust us with your home. Unlike too many in our line of work, we work tirelessly to give you our best at a fair price. From small pruning jobs to hazardous tree removal, we treat every property as if it were our own.
You may hire us, but we work for God as we serve our neighbors; in other words, we answer to a higher standard.
If you’d like our help, feel free to contact us for a complimentary estimate. On behalf of everyone at Trailblazer Turf & Timber, we’d be honored to work for you and with you.

The reasonable pricing provided is important to me. However, the most impressive aspects of the service is reliability, professionalism, and flexibility to satisfy customer requests. Highly recommended.

We had a very good experience with Evarts and would highly recommend them to others looking for tree work. Frank is a good guy and a good communicator, with a flexible approach and very fair and reasonable prices.

Evarts Tree Service is extremely professional and did a fantastic job—fast, safe, and completely hassle-free. They cleaned up thoroughly afterward and responded very quickly. I'm really happy we were able to get the sick tree removed, so we can enjoy a peaceful and worry-free Christmas.
No. Estimates are free and there is no obligation. Owner Frank Jaros walks the property, explains what the job involves and gives you a written price before any work begins.
Yes. We are based in Bedford Hills and serve all of Westchester County — including Bedford, Katonah, Pound Ridge, Chappaqua, Mount Kisco, North Salem, South Salem and Cross River — and Orange County communities such as Middletown, Newburgh, Goshen, Monroe, Warwick, Florida, Chester, Montgomery and Walden. We also cover the wider Hudson Valley across Putnam, Dutchess, Sullivan and Ulster counties, plus Greenwich and Stamford in Connecticut.
We do — that is what sets Trailblazer Turf & Timber apart. Most tree services leave when the tree is down; we grind the stump, regrade the ground and rebuild the space with lawn, planting beds, walls or a patio. One company, one crew, one estimate for the removal and the restoration.
Yes. We handle homes, estates and commercial properties across our service area — from a single backyard tree to full grounds with tree care, landscaping and hardscaping. The same crew and the same free-estimate process apply to both.
Frank visits the property, looks at the job with you and answers your questions on the spot. You then receive a clear written price — no vague ranges and no surprises on the invoice. If you approve it, we schedule the work and the same crew you met sees it through from start to finish.
